Autumn Flowers

Taken while meandering through New Hampshire's White Mountains on the way to Maine.  The colors were peak up there 1st week of October and by the end of this month colors should be moving down south to MA.  The weather was nice for the most part, but heavy rains had caused major flooding on the other (west) side of the mountains and knocked out our power the first night we were there.  Those rivers are nothing short of ferocious!

The Basin

This is called The Basin an area off Rte. 93 in New Hampshire.  The Pemigewassett River has carved a "pothole" in the stone that is so beautiful.  I go to this area every time I have a chance and I am never disappointed no matter what the season.

Reflections

This was taken close to Crawford Notch at a small pond.  The light was just right and there was no wind.  I can't wait to take this again when the colors are changing.

Framing in Bath

This was taken from the window in a covered bridge in Bath, New Hampshire.  The general store next door is one of the oldest is not the oldest in the USA.  Very much worth a visit - wonderful smoked meats and cheeses!

Flying Vermont

Up, up and away - oh what fun this was!  My first experience in such a small plane flying over Vermont and getting a bird's eye view.  The picture taking was not good until I asked permission to open the window (you have to be careful it doesn't slam against the wing), and got my lens out there.  My arms were sore from holding on to the camera and lens, but it was worth it to learn about taking aerial photos.

Nevada Tree

This tree caught my attention.  I was out in the Spring Mountain Recreational Area (Mt. Charleston) outside Las Vegas.  Mt. Charleston was the only peak that still had a bit of snow on it so that's where I headed - about 70 miles north of Vegas and then  25 miles west or close to it.  It was nice to see the desert below and trees above me, very scenic.
