The Androscoggin River winds along Route 16 in northeastern New Hampshire.  It is the home of large moose, deer, loon, duck, raccoons, weasel and has some of the greatest fly fishing anywhere.  At the end of the day, the river is like a mirror reflecting everything beautiful around it.

We had an unexpected visitor to the cabin this year.  Black bears are numerous in New Hampshire.  A few had been seen last year here and there, however, I did not expect this one to show up in the yard.  He/she was a youngster that showed up at night and we made noise to frighten him away, only to have him return at 5:00 am which is when this shot was taken.  With a few louder noises he took off again.
Love it here.

Mockingbird Face

I enjoyed this mockingbird with the great personality.  He did not seem to mind that I was so close, he just kept on posing and twittering away while sitting on the cactus.  This bird flew off a couple times and then came back to have a staring contest.  He won.

Bluebonnet Railroad

Many of us are still enjoying the last of the wildflowers in Texas.  I thought I would post this one of the bluebonnets on the tracks before the season is gone.  This is a beautiful place up near Marble Falls, Texas.

It is spring in the Texas Hill Country as evidenced by this Pink Thistle.  If you have not visited Texas in April you are missing some of the most colorful scenery in the southern states.  This area has the most beautiful wildflowers, including Bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, Firewheel, Indian blanket, winecup, Prickly poppy, Mexican hat and Primrose to name a few.  There really is a multitude of colors in every field.

Spring in New England

It is March, which is supposed to mean spring in New England.  There is still a lot of snow on the ground and wreaths still adorn the barns from Christmas.  The trees are starting to run, however, which is the sign that maple syrup and spring is just around the corner.

Nor'Easter

The snow is as high as an elephant's eye!  The power went out a while here in Massachusetts from the nor'easter, however, it was still pretty. Taken in Norwell, MA.

Kite Skiing

This was taken at Mt. Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire.  I had never heard of Kite Skiing, however, it is a new trend and they were giving lessons.  It was a cold, however, beautiful day.
