This time of year makes me think of New England when I am not there and especially New Hampshire. That (New Hampshire) is a place that is old fashioned and yet brand new all at the same time. Christmas is amazing because you can have sleigh rides, dog sled rides, ski, ice skate, snow shoe, snow mobile or just take a walk all while seeing Christmas lights on various things in the snow. Such a beautiful sight. Hope everyone's holidays are full of JOY!

This sunset photo was taken from along the Kancamagus Highway (Rte. 112) that runs between the towns of Plymouth and Conway in New Hampshire. The weather and scenery were perfect, although there were a few insects that were not real pleasant. The bugs come with the territory...nothing a little Deep Woods Off can't handle. This is one of the prettiest places in the United States.

This was taken close to Crawford Notch off Rte. 302 in NH. Summer is here and everything looks wonderful in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Massachusetts is looking beautiful this time of year with flowers in bloom and birds in every yard. I never get tired of the scenery here in New England, although I look forward to other trips across the awesome United States.

Stormin' Scituate
I spoke too soon about the hospitable weather! There has been a storm brewing for two days along the Massachusetts coastline. This was taken in Scituate although almost NOT, since the car door about blew off and my camera and I were soaked.

Boston Harbor
Taking photos of New England is always easy, there are beautiful scenes around every corner. This was taken from Fort Revere on the edge of Hull, MA. Spring weather has been mostly hospitable here.

I made myself go out and take pictures for spring since it was such a beautiful day. I drove from San Antonio, up through Blanco and Johnson City, then turned and headed west toward Fredericksburg, Texas. I came across red and white bluebonnets that I have never seen before. They are usually in purple or sometimes blue and pink. I love anything red and look forward to the rest of the red spring flowers to arrive.

Baby Goffin Cockatoo
These baby Goffin Cockatoo babies are so ugly when born and yet turn into these gorgeous white birds, which are some of the sweetest and most personable as pets. This one had been hatched only 5 hours when this was taken. They need to be fed every 2 hours at first, a very very thin formula made just for baby parrots.

The Stream in the Snow
This photo was taken on the way to Stowe, Vermont. I love the days that you get in the car with no particular agenda, take a back road or three and find beautiful scenes like this. Makes it worth the trip.

Icy River
Taken driving down Rte. 118 close to Woodstock, New Hampshire. The whole area looks like a winter wonderland with a fresh dusting of snow the past couple days. Temperature at night has been reading -15 on my outdoor thermometer. Ski areas are still hoping for snow that will stick - has been a mild winter for most of the east coast.
