A Texas Wildflower Hunt

Having a nice visit back home again to Texas and driving lots of miles and miles and miles to find the best wildflower scenery.  This was taken south of San Antonio, close to Poteet.  Poteet's strawberry festival will be in full swing the 2nd weekend in April which is a lot of fun!  Be sure to eat a bite from the Cooling Station Grill on Rte. 16... little yellow building with gorditas and burgers to die for and lemonade that is just right.  Another good spot over there is the Poteet Country Winery at 400 Tank Hollow Rd.  Just giving you info. as my friends and I found it by accident and none of us drink. We were there for the pictures of the many windmills on Dusty's place.  You can find more of my photos on my Facebook Lyn Scott Photography page.

The Cardinal Boys

We moved to North Carolina a year ago, and I have enjoyed watching the squirrels and some new breeds of birds that I have not seen in Texas.  We did have the cardinals in San Antonio, however, the dog that lives in our home there scares most little creatures of any type.  I have been photographing more birds these days, since we are in the middle of farmland and not much else.  Looking forward to spring flowers and a trip back home.

Chai and the Coke Box

This kitty came in to our lives 6 months after we lost our TaiBo, another oriental shorthair.  The oriental breed of cat is is beautiful, smart, fun, sociable and does not shed.  We had never suffered such loss over any other animal before, well, except for a parrot, and this boy has given our lives a spark again.  He has a big fluffy bed, which is now the toy box and he prefers to sleep in the coke box as he watches the birds and squirrels from our North Carolina home. I would highly recommend this breed of cat for anyone looking.  Adoption is always the best first option.
